I am not altogether sure how this trip came about. it seemed like a good idea at the time. I thought after Linda passed away I would take a year off and get my life in order. Then in a blink I sold the house, bought my new house and still had this trip booked.
That wouldn't have been a problem except so far I have spent a week in Canberra, a week in Surfers three weeks in America. I have two weeks in Beijing and a month in South America to come. All this with the stockmarket in turmoil - or my shares at least.
So I guess in retrospect this trip may not have been the best idea. That said who can resist the idea of my spending a month with Danielle in Europe. As mum says the sun will stiill shine tomorrow so here we go.
People who know me well would know that I packed about four weeks ago. Since then I have unpacked and repacked maybe 4 times removing and adding things. I was dedicated to travelling light - despite being a pack mule to Danielle's newly formed freight company schlepping luggage around the world for her. The good news is that, for myself, i am down to one suitcase (heavy as it is) and two small backpacks for the plane.
I leave on Thursday and overnight in Singapore where I then board the plane for London meeting my cousins Rachel, Asher and Maya Grynberg.
I will be staying in London till the 15th or 19th July and then head off for either Deauville or Paris where I meet Danielle in Paris on 20th and we start our journeys together.
So stay tuned as I try and update this every few days.
Love to all - David
